Alveus Lacuna Sometimes I feel like these are throwaway or at least incomplete Mortiis tracks, but in the most inspired moments on display throughout, there is an even more pronounced medieval vibe than in his parallel main project output of the same period. Which is to say that while similar to Era I Mortiis, there is enough here to distinguish it, and it’s certainly worth everyone’s time.

Also, to those listening for the first time, I find the latter half of the album stronger. Favorite track: Søk Din Ånd.

Valarauko A somewhat lighter offering from the Troll King himself, but just as vital to dungeon synth as all the main Mortiis Era 1 material. A must for any fan

XUN Hustle in a castle. One of the most exciting medieval pieces I've heard. Favorite track: Fata Morgana.
